2023-04-29 Sap Run for Kids (Signature Project)This year's annual Kiwanis Sap Run for Kids was another huge success. Despite the damp day, the kids still arrived ready to begin. Some were wearing their "Super fast shoes", others had on their "speedy suit". Whatever it took, they were determined to finish. The SportLab lanyard with a bottle of Maple Syrup was a nice 'finishing medal' and the coupons for a free pancake breakfast filled their bellies post run. We also had some terrific cheerleaders to accompany the ringing cowbells! An exciting day for all of us! Check out more pictures in the Photo Album link above! 2022-10-21 Ted Barris Lunch & LearnAnother successful event with Ted Barris! The session started with a lovely homemade luncheon by the Ladies Auxiliary at the Royal Canadian Legion 232 - Huntsville. If anyone left hungry, it would have been their own fault. Post feast, Ted captivated the audience with a discussion on his new book Battle of the Atlantic: Gauntlet to Victory. Nothing less than engaging and passionate, Ted held the audience’s attention, while he took his listeners on a trip through Canada’s participation in the Battle of the Atlantic. Upon conclusion, Ted signed books for those that desired. An educated audience left wanting to hear more. If Kiwanis is able to recruit Ted for another session in the future, we will ensure everyone is aware. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

2022-09-19 Golf Tournament Cancelled 😢Friends of Kiwanis; It is not the news we wanted to share but it is what we need to share, the 4th Annual Kiwanis Golf Tournament of September 19th at North Granite Ridge has been cancelled for this year. There are certainly disappointed people, however the economic climate made it challenging for us and out of respect for our regular sponsors and golfers we were sensitive to their issues with staffing and simply trying to stay afloat, even though some would have made the effort to help, the numbers were not going to make it a meaningful tournament for the course as well as our golfers. We'll be back next year and trust that the economic climate will be in a better place as well. As for this event, those who have actually made payments, your funds will be returned, with our thanks. Tentatively save the date of Monday, September 18, 2023 for the return of Kiwanis to beautiful North Granite Ridge G.C. |
