Spring is here and it's the perfect time to start thinking about ensuring children are ready for a safe summer on their bikes. Organized by The SportLab, the Town of Huntsville, Kiwanis Club of Huntsville Muskoka, Bicycle Pro Shop, OPP and Fowler Construction Co.. The Kids' Bike Rodeo is a fun and educational clinic for kids aged 5 to 12 to ensure that they have the correct equipment and know the proper cycling safety for this coming summer. The Kids' Bike Rodeo support a healthy, active lifestyle and encourages the children to get outside. The simple life skill of riding a bike can promote family rides, exercise and a joy of nature. Kids will make their way through various stations designed to improve therir cycling knowledge and skills, including bike and helmet checks, learning road signs, using hand signals, a miniature intersection, and an agilty course. It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete the six stations. The young riders will then receive a small snack, a completed checklist, and some small take homes. This event is free of charge, but advanced registration is required. More information to be released shortly. |
